DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. What stood out to you from the stories of Zacchaeus and the woman in Luke 7? How did Jesus demonstrate hospitality in each situation?
2. How would you define the difference between hospitality and entertainment? Which one comes more naturally to you, and why?
3. Pastor Josh shared that hospitality is “being a friend to the stranger.” Who in your life right now might fit that description?
4. Read Luke 14:12-14. What does Jesus’ teaching here reveal about the heart behind hospitality? What is one way you can apply that this week?
5. In the B.L.E.S.S. model, which rhythm is most challenging for you—Begin with Prayer, Listen, Eat, Serve, or Share your Story? Why?
6. What might God be asking you to change in your weekly rhythm or mindset so you can better practice hospitality?
7. How have you seen hospitality shape the way your family or children view others who are different or far from God?

Practicing the Way – Hospitality
Josh Gregoire, Pastoral Intern/Media Team Leader
This week, we continued our “Practicing the Way” series, exploring what it means to Be with Jesus, Become like Jesus, and Do what Jesus did. Pastor Josh led us into the practice of hospitality—not just hosting meals, but living with open hearts and lives toward those who are far from God.
We looked at two powerful stories from Luke’s Gospel: Zacchaeus, a tax collector despised by his community, and the unnamed woman who washed Jesus’ feet at Simon the Pharisee’s house. In both stories, Jesus redefines what it means to share a table. He models hospitality not as entertainment, but as an invitation into grace, transformation, and belonging.
We were also reminded of the B.L.E.S.S. rhythms—simple but intentional practices that help us engage people in our lives with the love of Christ. True biblical hospitality isn’t about impressing others; it’s about presence, love, and creating space for the Spirit to work.

At K1, we are committed to sharing the good news of Jesus with a world who does yet know him. We believe that the most effective way to do that is through "relational evangelism" - building relationships with lost people in our lives by Beginning with Prayer (Praying for them), Listening (Really listening), Eating (Sharing meals with them), Serving (showing up in meaningful ways, without limits), and Sharing our Story (The ways that God has shown up in our lives).
As we live this out, we want to hear stories of how this B.L.E.S.S. way of living is happening in your life!
