God created us each on purpose, with a purpose. When we use our gifts, talents, passions, and experiences for His kingdom, we come alive! Our purpose is meant to be lived out in every aspect of our lives, but when we serve within our church community we get to actively pour into the family business. In Exodus 6, God promised that He would take us as “His people” not “His person.” God’s mission is accomplished when His people work together, bringing all of their gifts and abilities together on one team. We want to help connect you with our Dream Team where you can use the gifts God has given you to live out your role in God’s story of bringing people back into right relationship with God.

At Kankakee First Church, we believe in the power of small groups. We believe that God created us to live life in the context of  relationships and that God's mission on earth was meant to be lived out together as a body of believers - the Church. When we live life in relationships, we become seen and known and trust is built. This is the soil where freedom can be found!

Whether you have made a first decision to follow Jesus, or are at a point in your life where you have decided to get serious about your faith - FRESH START is a great Next Step. This short book helps you establish a firm foundation and understanding of what it means to embrace the life of a Christ follower. We also have Fresh Start mentors who can meet with you to go over the book and answer questions you might have, encourage you in your journey, and begin walking the path with you. Baptism is a sacrament that we participate in when we have decided to follow Jesus! It is commanded of all new disicples as it represents our willing decision to die to self in order to be raised into new life - as a new creation in Christ! It is truly a celebration!
