A DISCIPLING CHURCH

Nov 1, 2026  •  Jenna Luoto

Two questions. Do you consider yourself a follower of Jesus? And do you consider yourself a disciple maker? Most of us answer the first one easily and go quiet on the second. As we continue in our Becoming the Church series, Pastor Jenna Luoto takes on the one attribute in this series that is not observed from the early church but commanded outright: go and make disciples. We have split following Jesus from making disciples, treating one as a private journey and the other as an advanced stage for the qualified, and Jesus never did. Pastor Jenna names four honest reasons the church is not doing it, and then reframes the whole thing. Disciple making is not a job to accomplish. It is a joy to participate in. So the question to start with is not what am I supposed to do, but what has Jesus done in my life that I would love for someone else to experience?
